One killed, one injured in ATV accident on Boone River
A passenger was killed and the driver of an ATV was injured in an accident this weekend along the Boone River, near Goldfield.
The Iowa State Patrol says 21-year-old Levi Rasmussen of Goldfield was driving a John Deere Gator along the riverbank shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday when he misjudged how close the ATV was to the river and the vehicle dropped from the riverbank into the river. Rasmussen’s passenger, 20-year-old McKenna Woodbeck of Huxley was trapped underneath the ATV and died.
Rasmussen, who was thrown from the ATV, was taken to a hospital in Clarion for treatment of his injuries.
