Leal and Mc Williams Enter Not Guilty Pleas in Connection to Earling Woman’s Death
Winston Joe Leal and Ashley McWilliams, charged in connection with the death of an Earling woman, have pleaded not guilty. Leal faces a charge of First-Degree Murder in the death of 32-year-old Theresa Kenkel. Ashley McWilliams has been charged with Accessory After the Fact. Both defendants are scheduled to appear in court for hearings on September 29 at 9 a.m. The charges stem from an incident on Thursday, July 31, when the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at 204 2nd Avenue in Earling. Deputies entered the residence and discovered Kenkel deceased inside.
