$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Denison
(Denison, IA) A $1 million Powerball® prize has been claimed in western Iowa. The winning ticket, purchased at Kimmes Denison Country Store at 1108 Fourth Avenue South in Denison, matched the first five numbers in Saturday night’s drawing. The numbers drawn were 28, 37, 42, 50, and 53, with 19 selected as the Powerball.
The Denison ticket was one of only four nationwide to secure a $1 million prize, with the other winning tickets sold in California, Massachusetts, and Maryland. No tickets matched all six numbers, meaning the Powerball jackpot now increases to an estimated $63 million annuity, or a $30 million lump-sum cash option, for Monday’s drawing.
In addition to the major prize, Kimmes Denison Country Store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Iowa Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
According to the Iowa Lottery, prizes of this amount must be claimed at its headquarters in Clive. The office is open Monday through Friday, and appointments are recommended. Claimants may call 515-725-7900 or email wmaster@ialottery.com to schedule. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize.
Residents who purchased tickets in Denison are encouraged to check their numbers promptly.
