Schauer Seeks Reelection to Dunlap City Council
Benjamin Schauer has officially filed for reelection to the Dunlap City Council, highlighting the city’s recent growth and laying out his priorities for the future.
Schauer, who has called Dunlap home for the past 10 years, said he takes pride in the progress the community has made and wants to continue building on that momentum. “As a transplant, I know more than anyone else that Dunlap is something special, and that’s why I’ve made it my home,” Schauer said. “We are a community that is looking forward, and we need steady leadership to keep us on this exciting path.”
During his first term, Schauer said he has supported a wide range of initiatives, including maintaining and strengthening the local police department, making major upgrades to water and sewage infrastructure, and investing in road improvements. He also pointed to work with local nonprofits on community beautification, expanding the city’s public works crew, and partnering with the Dunlap Community Development Corporation (DCDC) and other civic groups.
Other projects Schauer highlighted include modernization of pool and park services, expanded recreational opportunities for residents of all ages, and setting plans to preserve the Pleasantview Park Dam.
“I am proud of the work this community has done to grow and expand, and I am honored to have had the trust of my fellow citizens these past four years,” he said. “That said, there is much work left to do, and I humbly ask for your vote on November 4th to continue our progress.”
Schauer encouraged residents to reach out directly if they have questions about his work on the council or want to discuss local issues, saying, “My line is always open.”
