On Sunday, Troop 55 welcomed its newest Eagle Scout as Cooper Gehlsen was honored with Scouting’s highest achievement — the Eagle Scout Award.

Cooper’s trail to Eagle began all the way back in first grade, marking years of dedication, leadership, and community service. His journey culminated Sunday in a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and fellow Scouts.

The event was made even more special as Cooper’s Eagle Scout uncles, Bryan and Jeff Thompson, took part in the ceremony, continuing a proud family tradition of Scouting excellence.

Troop 55 members turned out in full force to celebrate Cooper’s milestone. He becomes the fourth Eagle Scout from Troop 55 this year, with two more Scouts soon to earn the rank — a testament to the troop’s strong leadership and commitment to the Scouting values of character, service, and perseverance.

Leaders and families expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported Cooper’s journey. “We could not have made it this far without you,” the troop shared. “It’s a proud day for Cooper, his family, our troop, and Scouting as a whole.”
