City of Mapleton to Experience Planned Four-Hour Power Outage October 15–16

Mapleton Mayor Brent Streck has announced a scheduled power outage that will affect the entire city of Mapleton next week. The outage is set to begin at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, and is expected to last until 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16.
City officials say the temporary shutdown is necessary as crews work to switch over to the new power lines being installed to improve Mapleton’s electrical infrastructure.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, especially those who rely on medical devices requiring electricity. Officials recommend ensuring battery backups are available during the outage. Families caring for elderly individuals should also make necessary arrangements for oxygen tanks or other essential equipment.
Local businesses are advised to notify their alarm companies of the planned interruption and take precautions to avoid false alarms during the transition period.
Mayor Streck asks residents to share the information widely to ensure everyone in the community is aware of the scheduled outage.
