Denison City Council to Meet Tuesday, November 4
The Denison City Council will convene for its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Members of the public may attend in person or participate remotely via Zoom using Meeting ID 453 000 9887 and Passcode 2633143.
Following roll call and approval of the agenda and consent items, council members will hear departmental reports and take up several key items of business. Among the agenda highlights are:

Approval of La Prensa as the city’s designated newspaper.

Consideration of a Tourism and Convention Business Services Agreement.

Approval of the hiring of Christopher Jochims as a Certified Police Officer at Step 6, with an hourly wage of $35.54, effective November 7.

Discussion and action on engineering and transportation agreements, including a supplemental design contract with Calhoun Burns for the Donna Reed Bridge replacement and an Iowa Department of Transportation agreement under the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program.

Authorization for the mayor to sign a letter of support for the IDOT’s proposed roundabout at Highway 59 and Arrowhead Road.

Review of a subscription agreement with QTpod for the self-service terminal at Denison Municipal Airport and an estimate for repairs to a 2023 Ford F-150 Police Responder.

Consideration of Police Department tactical training, a proposed purchase agreement for city property, and adoption of a resolution approving the FY 2024-25 Annual Financial Report.
The meeting will also include reports from the mayor and city manager before adjournment.
