Harlan man arrested on assault charge

42 year old Ronald Anthony Leal of Harlan was arrested on a Shelby County Warrant for Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness, a Serious Misdemeanor on Monday, December 29th. A temporary no contact order has been issued and a preliminary hearing is set for January 15th, at 10 am.
Also on Monday, 65 year old Maureen Ann McGruder of Omaha was taken into custody on several drug charges. Charges included Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance, second count – 3rd or subsequent offense, a Class D Felony, and Keeping Premises or vehicle for Controlled Substance Violation, an aggravated misdemeanor. She was released from custody with an initial appearance set for 9:30 am, January 6th and preliminary hearing set for January 13th at 10 am.
