RELEASE: WinnaVegas Casino Resort Invites You to Join a Moment of Silence

Sloan, Iowa – WinnaVegas Casino Resort closed its doors in March 2020 for the first time in 28 years. It was impacted just like several other small businesses and casinos throughout the United States due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They called it the ‘New Normal’ with masks mandatory and social distancing mandates across much of the country.

WinnaVegas Casino Resort invites you to take a minute on Wednesday, March 17 at 3pm CST and honor those people and businesses that were affected by the pandemic with a Moment of Silence. The casino resort will ask guests to stop gambling for one minute as we take this time to thank all the frontline workers and all those that have been affected.

“It’s been a difficult year for businesses and our local communities,” said General Manager Mayan
Beltran, “We closed on March 17 and reopened on June 12 with some of the kestrictest mask mandates and social distancing practices in the state of Iowa. It was important that we take care of our guests, associates and local communities.”

Located in a tri-state area, WinnaVegas Casino Resort monitors all three state’s pandemic reporting as well as the CDC guidelines. The casino resort is owned by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska located across the Missouri River in eastern Nebraska. The casino resort is now working with the 12 Clans Unity Hospital in Winnebago to offer the vaccine to all associates.

“On March 17th we are going to take some time to reflect on this past year,” continued Beltran, “it’s important to our guests and associates to know we thank all the frontline care workers and honor all those that have been affected by this pandemic.”

WinnaVegas Casino Resort is owned and operated by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and is currently in its 29th year of operation. Opening originally as a bingo parlor in April 1992, WinnaVegas has grown over the years to become the largest gaming floor in the area.
