Manilla Fire and Rescue Responds to Multiple Semi Rollovers During High Winds on Highway 59

Denison, Iowa — Manilla Fire and Rescue responded to multiple incidents on Highway 59 on Tuesday as strong winds created dangerous travel conditions for high-profile vehicles, including semi trucks.

According to the department, crews were first paged out to Highway 59 early in the afternoon for a semi that had blown over. Fire and Rescue personnel reported their services were not needed on that initial call.

However, as responders were returning to the station, they were paged again for another semi rollover about a mile north of the first incident. The department said the driver of the second semi required extrication from the cab, but no injuries were reported.

Manilla Fire and Rescue remained on scene to assist with traffic control, noting there were multiple scenes in the area due to the hazardous wind conditions.
