Dan Mundt Files as Democratic Candidate for Crawford County Supervisor

(Denison, Iowa) Dan Mundt of Denison has filed to run as a Democratic candidate for the Crawford County Board of Supervisors in the November general election.

Mundt signed his candidacy paperwork on July 16, one day after the Crawford County Democratic Party’s special nominating convention.

Mundt works with three area newspapers. The Denison Free Press covers Denison and Crawford County, the Ida County Courier serves communities throughout Ida County, and the Holstein Advance focuses primarily on Holstein, Galva and the surrounding area.

The Crawford County Democrats held the July 15 convention to nominate candidates for the three supervisor positions appearing on this year’s ballot. The party began seeking candidates after current Supervisor Dave Muhlbauer was selected as Democratic gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand’s running mate.

Republicans Kyle Schultz, Craig Dozark and Brian Rank advanced from the June primary as their party’s three supervisor candidates.

The terms currently held by Schultz, Dozark and Muhlbauer expire at the end of 2026. Crawford County’s five supervisors serve staggered four-year terms.

The general election will be held Tuesday, November 3.
