Denison Police Department Reports 2 Minor Accidents
The Denison Police Department reported two minor accidents from earlier this week with both incidents occurring Tuesday afternoon.
The first report states that the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe entered a parking stall on the south side of the 1300 block on Broadway Avenue with a second vehicle legally parked in the next stall. AN unidentified passenger in the Tahoe struck the right rear of a parked 2008 Ford Explorer with the left rear door of the Tahoe. Authorities say passenger allegedly opened the door prior to the Tahoe coming to a complete stop and the contact caused minor damage to the right rear quarter & taillight of the Explorer. The Tahoe left the scene without reporting the incident or notifying the owner of the Explorer which could be considered a hit and run. Authorities state that a witness observed the accident from a location across the street. No injuries were reported but damage estimates totaled $350.
Police reported that later the same afternoon the driver of a 2009 Ford F-150 was stopped in exiting traffic in the south parking lot of the Denison Middle School. Authorities say that the driver of a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty failed to see the other truck and backed into the right rear quarter of it. The F-150 sustained minimal damage and police say the vehicle may have already had prior damage in the same location.
