Denison Police Reporting 2 Major Accidents, Domestic Abuse Arrest
The Denison Police Department is reporting a trio of recent incidents with two of them taking place on Monday.
Police say that 40-year-old Trisha Boettger was exiting the parking lot of McDonalds onto Highway 39 in her 2011 Chevrolet Traverse at 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. Boettger told officers she looked to the left and saw a vehicle with its right turn signal on. Boettger stated that she then looked right and began to pull out believing the roadway was clear. The report says 19-year-old Skyler Freeman of Arion was making a right turn into the parking lot but was still traveling north on Highway 39. Boettger's Tahoe then struck Freeman's 2014 Chevrolet Cruze broadside. Damage estimates totaled $13,000 dollars including $12,000 for the Tahoe but no injuries were reported.
Police arrested 20-year-old Lomerlin Dominguez of Denison around noon Monday on the 100 block of North 14th Street. Authorities charged Dominguez with domestic abuse assault by impeding the airway.
All charges are allegations and the people charged in the case are to be considered until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Police filed a report on Tuesday regarding an accident that happened uptown just before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 28th. The document states that 18-year-old Marvin Loarca of Denision was driving northbound on Main Street at the intersection of Broadway Avenue. The report states that the right rear tire broke off of the 1999 Toyota Tacoma causing it to lose control. The vehicle slid into a concrete flower planter which contained a parking sign and tree. The document says the momentum of the truck hitting the flower planter caused it to spin around. It came to a rest facing east on Main Street with the driver partially ejected through the front windshield. The report says Loarca abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene and then later denied remembering much of the accident. The Tacoma is totaled. The estimated damage cost to the tree and parking sign is $100
