Woodbine Community School District senior Adalynn Coenen has been named a recipient of the 2026 Iowa Governor’s Scholarship Award.
The honor is part of the Governor’s Scholar Program, which recognizes some of Iowa’s top academic students. The program is presented by the Governor’s Office, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, and title sponsor Iowa Farm Bureau. It began in 2003.
Students selected for the recognition are chosen by their high schools as the school’s highest academic achievers. Honorees receive a photo plaque from the ceremony, along with a certificate commemorating the achievement.
Under the program, Iowa’s 64 largest schools, based on Iowa Department of Education BEDS enrollment figures, are invited to select two seniors. All other member schools are invited to select one senior as their highest academic achiever.
