Rob Sand Announces Crawford County Supervisor Dave Muhlbauer of the Manilla Area as Running Mate
DES MOINES, IA – Today, nominee for governor Rob Sand announced that fifth-generation family farmer, lifelong Iowan, and Crawford County Supervisor Dave Muhlbauer will join the ticket as candidate for lieutenant governor.
“A fifth-generation family farmer and cattleman from Crawford County, Dave Muhlbauer represents the best of our state: hard-working, honest, and always willing to help out. I’m proud to have him on Team Sand,” said nominee for governor Rob Sand. “Dave has a track record of working with everyone to deliver for western Iowa and knows it’s time to rotate the crops in state government. He’ll be a great partner on the trail and an even better lieutenant governor for the people of Iowa.”
“When there’s work on the farm to be done or your neighbor needs help bailing hay, you don’t ask who they voted for. You put on your boots and lend a hand. Rob understands that, and that’s why I’m proud to be part of Team Sand,” said candidate for Lieutenant Governor Dave Muhlbauer. “This campaign is about public service, not politics – something I learned from my dad and grandpa when they served our community. I am honored to be Rob’s partner in this race, and I cannot wait to meet voters all across our state to talk about making Iowa not redder or bluer, but better and truer.”
Born and raised in Manilla, Muhlbauer attended the IKM Community School District. After graduation, he briefly attended Wartburg College before returning home to continue the family tradition of working on the farm, which he’s done ever since.
In addition to being a farmer and cattleman, Muhlbauer is also serving his second term on the Crawford County Board of Supervisors. Dave’s family has a long history of public service, as both his father, Dan, and grandfather, Louis, served as Supervisors and in the Iowa Legislature.
Outside of farming and his time as a county supervisor, Dave enjoys spending time with his family, riding horses, and playing cards with the guys on the farm. He and his wife of 18 years, Linda, have three children and a dog, Rambo.
