Harlan Man Killed in Interstate 880 Rollover Crash

(Pottawattamie County, Iowa) — A 31-year-old Harlan man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 880 in Pottawattamie County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, troopers responded at approximately 8:09 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, to a rollover crash near the 9.6-mile marker of westbound Interstate 880.

Investigators said a 2008 GMC Acadia driven by Dillon Michael Wood of Harlan was traveling west when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and entered the north ditch.

The vehicle rolled, and Wood, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was ejected. He suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

The patrol’s report indicates Wood was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
