Crawford County Democrats Seeking Supervisor Candidates Ahead of Special Convention
The Crawford County Democratic Party is seeking candidates interested in running for the Crawford County Board of Supervisors, according to Larry Peterson.
The party is preparing to fill the nomination connected to the supervisor seat currently held by Dave Muhlbauer, who has been selected as a candidate for Iowa lieutenant governor.
A special nominating convention will be held Wednesday, July 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Fireside Room at the Norelius Community Library in Denison.
Delegates eligible to participate will be the same legal delegates who attended the Crawford County Democratic Convention on March 21, along with their designated alternates.
The party may nominate up to three candidates for the three open supervisor positions. Following the convention, affidavits of candidacy and certificates of nomination must be filed by August 26, 2026.
Any registered Democrat who resides in Crawford County and is interested in running should contact Crawford County Democratic Party Chair Larry Peterson by July 1. Peterson can be reached at 712-269-0919 or idlewood@me.com.
