Denison City Council Approves Budget Resolution, Discussing Several Housing Issues
The Denison City Council met on Tuesday night with the most discussion taking place on the topics of a down payment assistance program and year-round safety on the Yellow Smoke or Wheels to Heels trail. The council greeted newly-hired police officer Dan Ten Eyck with a round of applause after Chief Dan Schaffer introduced him early in the meeting. Ten Eyck will begin work in Denison next Wednesday, March 24th.
The council approved several agenda items including a resolution for the fiscal year 2021-22 budget and a purchase agreement with Homes for Iowa. They also discussed selling half of an alley near 3rd Avenue South and an amendment regarding residential steel roofing but no final action was taken.
