First update from the Crawford County Shooting Sports team's first meet in Dedham

First update from the Crawford County Shooting Sports team's first meet in Dedham from head coach Mike Schrum:

The Crawford County Shooting Sports team officially kicked off the 2026 season this past Saturday at the Carroll County Shooting Sports hosted meet that was held at the AVAD Hunt Club outside of Dedham. Mother Nature was obviously excited for the season to get here as well as she presented the athletes with a Spring-like mixture of snow, sleet, rain, and wind for them to compete in for their inaugural meet of the season.

The Crawford County Shooting Sports team had 40 athletes sign-up to compete, and there were 40 athletes that showed up to brave the conditions, tackle the adversity, and become stronger competitors as a result of doing so. There were roughly 150 athletes overall from the five conference teams that showed up to compete for the first kickoff meet of the season.

Although the conditions were subpar at best, and although it was only the first meet of the season, the meet scores put forward by all teams were very impressive. The Crawford County Shooting Sports team quickly came to the realization that wins will not come easy this year, nor should we wish for them to. There were some great first meet scores put forth by all conference competitors, which lays the foundation for a very exciting season ahead.
