Denison Police reporting no contact arrest, non-injury collision

The Denison Police Department is reporting one additional arrest and another motor vehicle accident from earlier this week.

Officers apprehended Fernando Salinas of Denison on Thursday morning at around 9:30 a.m. near 4th Avenue North. They took the 27-year-old male into custody for violating a no contact order.

All charges are allegations and the persons named in a case are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The traffic accident happened on Monday evening at approximately 5:10 p.m. in the intersection of South 14th Street and 2nd Avenue South. The related document indicates that 41-year-old Shani Bonner of Denison was traveling east on 2nd away from the stop sign at 14th in a 2012 Ford Flex Limited. The 2004 GMC Yukon driven by 35-year-old Francisco Gomez was traveling south on 14th. Gomez entered the intersection and struck the left front of Bonner's Ford with the right front of the Yukon. No injuries were reported. Police cited Bonner for failure to obey the stop sign and Gomez for violating conditions of a restricted license. Both vehicles were eventually driven away from the scene with an estimated $5,000 worth of damage done to the Yukon and $3,000 estimated for the Flex.
