Adair police chief on paid leave after federal raids
Adair police chief Brad Wendt is on a paid leave of absence after late August raids by the FBI and ATF. Wendt lives in Denison and owns BW Outfitters. Agents served search warrants at five locations across west-central Iowa on August 31st in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged federal firearm law violations. Authorities raided Wendt’s home and gun store in Denison along with the Anita BW location, a rural property in Manning, and the chief’s office at Adair’s City Hall. The mayor of Adair confirmed to KCCI is Des Moines that Wendt is off the job for now and the city attorney confirmed he is under investigation.
