Mexican citizen living in Denison sentenced to 21 months in prison
The United States Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Iowa announced that a Mexican citizen living in Denison will spend nearly two years in prison. The court sentenced 39-year-old Eric Jimenez Del Carmen to 21 months in prison for misuse of a social security number. Authorities say Del Carmen applied for employment with Monogram Foods in Harlan in November 2019 by knowingly using a social security number that had not been assigned to him. He reportedly got a job there as a result of misuse of a social security number. Homeland Security Investigations and the Social Security Administration oversaw the investigation.
