One Injury Reported After Head-On Collision in Denison
The Denison Police Department reported one injury after several accidents on icy roads Tuesday.
A head-on collision happened just before 3:00 p.m. on North 16th Street. A 2013 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound and slid into the northbound lane while trying to slow down. The car then struck a 2006 Mercury Milan on the driver’s side. The crash totaled both vehicles. First responders transported the Milan driver to Crawford County Memorial Hospital after complaints of head and neck pain.
A semi-truck hit part of the Cobblestone Inn & Suites entrance near the Boulders Event Center. The impact did an estimated $2,000 of damage to the structure and sprinkler system inside of it. A pickup truck pushing snow in the CCMH parking lot reportedly struck a parked vehicle and did about $1,500 worth of damage during the afternoon as well. The final reported accident took place after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue C and Industrial Drive. Denison PD says the driver of a 2007 Toyota Camry hit the side of a 2006 Honda Civic after pulling away from a stop sign without allowing enough time for the slick road conditions.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a call at just after 8:30 a.m. about a semi jacknifed and in the ditch near Highway 59 and L Avenue. They also got a report about a UPS truck in the ditch at about 10:15 a.m. just north of Kiron on Highway 39. No injuries were reported.
