Crawford County Board of Supervisors Face Big 2023
The Crawford County Board of Supervisors met this week for the final time in 2022. IT was a fairly light agenda, according to board member Kyle Schultz. But he said with Jerri Vogt, Denise Meeves and Eric Skoog leaving it’s going to leave a big hole.
“Over 100 years of experience walks out of the Court House come (the) end of business Friday,” Schultz said.
He says it’s not easy running for office and serving your community. To do it for as long as Vogt, Meeves and Skoog did, it’s something to take note of.
“That's about as humbling as you can get right there,” Schultz said. “(Those) three have put in a lot of effort into serving the citizens of Crawford County in their life so I want to wish them the best of luck in their retirement and all things good for them.”
Outgoing members were relieved of duties and new members were officially sworn in. They include County Attorney Colin Johnson, Recorder Sara Meseck, Treasurer Sheri Neddermeyer, as well as Board of Supervisors Dave Muhlbauer, Craig Dozark and Kyle Schultz
Next week, the first official meeting of the year is an important one, according to Schultz.
“Which is a very important meeting. We have to establish all our legal stuff, official publications that do a whole slew of appointments to different boards and such,” Schultz said.
In 2022, Schultz says the board focused on three very important issues: the pipeline, windmills and the County budget. He says the Board is trying to look out for all the citizens of Crawford County.
“Moving forward in 2023, the budget again is going to be a big issue, the wind turbines and the pipeline will again continue to be very hard discussion points in our discussions moving forward,” Schultz said.
