One Dead After Highway 141 Crash North of Manilla
Authorities say one person died early Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle crash involving two Alabama residents.
The Iowa State Patrol reports the collision took place at 5:50 a.m. just north of Manilla at Highway 141 and 330th Street.
A 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by James Stovall was traveling westbound on 141 when it went left of center and collided with a 2023 International LT625 driven by Derek Pittenger. The Tahoe also struck cable barriers on the north shoulder while the semi-truck came to rest in the south ditch. Carroll County EMS transported Pittenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, to St Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Stovall reportedly died at the scene and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Stovall was 29 years old.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Dedham Fire Department assisted at the scene.
