Parks and Rec Hosting Denison Ice Rink Grand Opening
Denison Parks and Recreation is hosting a grand opening for the outdoor ice rink at the 7th Street softball field.
Sam Ellis says they moved the event forward from last weekend because of the weather forecast.
“I don’t know about everybody else but I know when the temperature gets below zero I don’t have a good time being anywhere outside. Wanted to make sure we had the most opportunity to have a good time. People can see it coming up Avenue C and there’s parking available there with more wide-open space. ,” Ellis says.
He says Saturday’s event will include hot cocoa, snacks, and games from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. but the ice rink itself is already open to the general public.
