City of Arcadia Gets $500 Grant For Park Upgrades
The City of Arcadia received a $500 grant from Western Iowa Networks and Aueron this week.
The money will go toward outdoor musical instruments for their city park. City Council member Linda Julin says the city’s 150th-anniversary celebration inspired ongoing community upgrades.
“Actually there are quite a few people who still work together. We’re still working towards other projects because if you quit the town dies,” Julin says.
She says they made improvements to the parking lot and shelter house, among others, with even more to come.
“Then people came up with three other ideas and we sent out a letter to everyone to pick their favorite and they were dang near even,” Julin says.
Julin accepted the grant check along with community volunteer Sharon Bierl and City Clerk Julie Schroeder.
