Crawford County Memorial Hospital To Host Scrubs Camp
Crawford County Memorial Hospital will be hosting a Scrubs Camp on Wednesday, July 19th. The camp is for high students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. Director of Education and Patient Experience, Dana Neemann, said the camp is for students to get a deeper dive into different aspects of healthcare. “Really, it’s an action-packed day. They get to go around different departments, surgery, radiology. We are going to be working on partnering with WIT this year and the students will get to go down there and do a lot of nursing skills.” Students will be provided with a t-shirt, lanyard, lunch, plus a tour of the hospital, as well as an information packet with different healthcare careers and their base salaries. “We found with this program is it really gives the kids a little bit of an inside as to more of the world of healthcare, from rehab services, EMT, emergency medicine,” Neemann said the program aids students in finding where their passions may lie within the healthcare field. “And if they find that they have a passion or an interest with something, then we give them the tools and the resources. These programs are so important so that way we can really pique the interest of the kids, get them excited about them, and let them know more than just doctors and nurses work at a hospital.” There are more openings for the camp and students are encouraged to register. “We just ask you go ahead and give the hospital a call at 712-265-2500, ask for Brandi Mefferd, cost is about $25.” Again, CCMH will be hosting a Scrubs Camp on Wednesday, July 19th for high school students.
