SAMANTHA PAULEY NAMED A GREAT IOWA NURSE FOR 2024
(Denison, IA) – Crawford County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) is pleased to announce Samantha Pauley,
RN has been selected as one of the Great Iowa Nurses for 2024. Pauley is a nurse in the CCMH
Emergency department. She has been with CCMH for the past two years.
Erin Muck, CCMH President and CEO, said “Samantha is a leader within our organization who
demonstrates our PRIDE values of professionalism, respect, integrity, dedication and excellence. She isan integral part of the quality of care offered to all the patients in our Emergency department. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, staff and employees, we offer her our congratulations on an award that is well deserved.”
Pauley’s nomination reads in part, “Sam embodies all the amazing qualities you
would expect when you think of what a nurse does. She is kind, compassionate,
patient, loving, and committed. She takes the extra time to make sure her patients
feel heard and cared for with every interaction. She does the same for her peers. Sam
has reset the standard when it comes to the expectations of nurses.”
Pauley said she was rendered speechless by the honor.
“I was honored and humbled to be named one of the Great Iowa Nurses for 2024. I can't take all the
credit, though. My fellow teammates in the ER, they make it easy for me to do my job with all their
support. I wouldn't be able to do it without them. So they are just as much a part of this as I am.”
Nurses selected for this honor represent many sectors of health care, working as nurses in hospitals,
long-term care facilities, schools, and offices. They come from all practice areas in nursing, including
acute care, sub-acute care, school nursing, nurse leaders, academics, and many more. The Great Iowa Nurses Awards will be conferred during a virtual ceremony in April 2024.
