Iowa State Bank Contributes $30,000 to Support Sauk Rail Trail Improvement Project
Iowa State Bank in Sac City has generously donated $30,000 towards the replacement of a section of the Sauk Rail Trail south of Lake View. The trail, which runs over the Black Hawk Marsh Dike, required repairs due to significant buckling and cracking in the concrete. After discussions with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), as the trail is located on state-owned land, Sac County Conservation has received approval to remove the damaged section and replace it with new concrete. This donation brings Sac County Conservation closer to their $65,000 fundraising goal, which they aim to reach by spring to help cover the project's total costs.
