Sac County Board of Supervisors Meet
The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present,
Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the
status of current maintenance and construction projects and introduced Mike Friedman as the new
secondary road superintendent.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to re-appoint Andy Merideth to the Sac
County Conservation Board. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to designate The Sac Sun and The
Chronicle as official county newspapers for Sac County for 2025. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Chairman made the following committee appointments for each supervisors for 2025:
Fischer- DHS, Ambulance, REAP, IDTEA, New Opportunities, Alternate to Second Judicial District,
Public Health and Rolling Hills Mental Health, Wissler- Sac County Endowment, ICAP, DO181
interim committee, Landfill board, county conservation board, Second Judicial District, Mental
Health Advisory, SETO, and Home town pride, Drake - Region XII, Youth Emergency Services,
DECAT, ISTEA, Community Empowerment, Workforce Development, Hazmat, EMA, E911.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to observe June 19th as Juneteenth Day.
Ayes Fischer: nays Wissler and Drake, motion denied.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to close the courthouse on the following
days in observance of federal holidays; January 20 - Martin Luther King Day, February 17 -
President's Day, April 18 - half day, Friday before Easter, (close at noon), May 26 - Memorial Day,
July 4 - Independence Day, September 1, Labor Day, November 11- Veteran's Day, November 27 &
28 - Thanksgiving, December 24 % 25 - Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, January 1, 2026- New
Year's Day. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the Sheriff's quarterly report
for the quarter ending December 31, 2024. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the Recorder's quarterly
report for the quarter ending December 24, 2024. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve final payment to the
Contractor for work done on DO59 in the amount of $30,137.87. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to re-appoint the following Township
Trustees to the appropriate township office; Delaware - Lance Wedeking and Jim Hamm, Douglas -
Jesse Hanson and Steve Roland, Cook- Keith Mentzer and Bruce Mentzer, Boyer Valley- Brad
Peterson and Steve Determan, Cedar- Doug Kolbe and Dennis Degner, Richland - Brian Buehlerand Bruce Raasch, Clinton - Tyler Bettin and Dick LaGrange, Wall Lake - Derek Rohde and Lon Buse, Coon Valley- Joe Jacobsen and Laverne Arndt, Wheeler - Pat Scanlon and Larry Berg, Levey-
Jeff Schroeder and Tom Geake, Viola - Richard Steinkamp and Eric McCullough. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve Application for Commercial
Urban Revitalization Tax Exemption on a five-year sliding scale submitted by Remmington Seeds
LLC on the cost of improvements in the amount of $2,819,220.48. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as listed on the
claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
