Sac County Man Sentenced to Prison for Violating Sex Offender Registry Requirements
A homeless man from Sac County has been sentenced to up to five years in prison for violating sex offender registry requirements. Martin Andrew Arispe Jr., 36, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to a second offense of failure to comply with the sex offender registry, a Class D felony.
According to Sac County Attorney Ben Smith, Arispe was registered as a sex offender in Buena Vista County at the time of his arrest. However, an investigation by the Sac City Police Department revealed that Arispe was residing unlawfully at a home located within 2,000 feet of a registered daycare, a violation of the registry’s stipulations.
Arispe’s sentence will run concurrently with existing felony convictions in Buena Vista County for controlled substance violations and domestic abuse assault. The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Sac and Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Offices.
