IKM-Manning Leads Local Schools with Three All-State Speech Performances
Last weekend, three local schools participated in the large-group state speech contest, with IKM-Manning advancing three events to the prestigious All-State Festival. Coon Rapids-Bayard Community School District (CSD) submitted a television news segment with eight students, earning an overall II rating. The AR-WE-VA CSD's improv group also took part, receiving a II rating as well. IKM-Manning had a strong showing with nine entries, eight of which earned I ratings. Of these, three events will move forward to the All-State Festival at Iowa State University in Ames on February 22. Two of IKM-Manning's performances will be showcased: the television news segment titled “Mystery of the Enigma: Season 2, Episode 4: Cryptids,” featuring Josiah Conner, Justine Koski, Olivia Robinson, Linda Valentine, Kennah Woebke, Ben Ramsey, Nathanael Conner, Jacey Fuchs, and Reagan Hoffman, as well as the short film “Reflections” starring Lauren Greving, Ma’Kai Prothro, Adalyn Stribe, Linda Valentine, Katelyn Wittrock, and Laura McCarville. Additionally, the solo mime “Reflections Rewritten” by Emily Albertsen will be recognized in the non-performing category at the All-State Festival. Below is the full list of state speech results.
