Sac City Man Potentially Facing 15 Years In Prison For Allegedly Receiving Pictures Of A Minor After Being Charged Of Sexual Abuse Of A Child In 2021

(Carroll Broadcasting) A Sac City man has pleaded not guilty to allegedly purchasing depictions of a minor in a sex act after being convicted of third-degree sexual abuse back in 2021. According to Sac County District Court records, 68-year-old Keith Clayton Mesner allegedly possessed visual media of a minor female engaging in a sex act, knowing the female was underage. He is currently facing a charge of purchasing or possessing depictions of a minor in a sex act, a class D felony. However, due to prior conviction of third-degree sexual abuse of a child, a class C felony, Mesner will be sentenced as a habitual offender, increasing the maximum sentence to 15 years in prison, if convicted. A jury trial has been scheduled for June 17 at the Sac County Courthouse.
