Earling man charged in accident that killed2 and injured 4 Friday morning

(7-11-25) - (KETV) - Two people were killed, and four others injured in a fiery car crash on an Omaha interstate Friday morning. It happened on I-480 near 10th Street around 2:10 a.m. Investigators said one vehicle, a Ford pickup, was traveling the wrong direction on I-480 when it struck another vehicle, a Buick sedan, nearly head-on. Omaha Police said the impact caused the Buick to catch fire. Investigators said two occupants inside the Buick were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional occupants, both teenage girls, were taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with serious injuries. One person was said to be pinned in the crash. Omaha Police said the two occcupants of the Ford were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford, identified as 22 year old Christian Stephens of Earling, Iowa was arrested for two counts of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide and willful reckless driving. Alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
