MRHC Launches Legacy Fund to Strengthen Future of Rural Healthcare

Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) has unveiled a new fundraising initiative known as the Legacy Fund, designed to secure the long-term growth, innovation, and sustainability of the hospital. The fund provides an opportunity for donors and community members to contribute to the continued success and development of local healthcare services.
MRHC CEO Shannon Black says the fund is more than a way to collect donations—it’s an investment in the future of rural healthcare. “The Legacy Fund is about preserving and strengthening our ability to serve. It’s our pledge to continue delivering quality care close to home for generations to come.”
By launching this internal philanthropic program, MRHC aims to support strategic priorities such as facility improvements, enhanced patient care programs, and the addition of new services. These efforts are key to maintaining the hospital’s role as a vital, independent provider for Manning and the surrounding communities.
To kick off fundraising efforts, MRHC will host the Legacy 5K Walk and Run on Saturday, August 23, at Manning City Park. Registration is $35, with all proceeds going directly to the Legacy Fund. Participants can register online through the provided link.
Looking ahead, MRHC also plans to host an annual Legacy Gala in November and a Legacy Golf Tournament in June 2026 as part of its continued fundraising efforts.
