Veterans Day Observations at Denison Community Schools

Denison Community Schools will honor Veterans Day with special activities on November 11th at the district’s various schools.
Denison High School
On Thursday, November 11, at 2:15 p.m., Denison High School will host a Veterans Day Program in the high school gymnasium. The program will feature tributes from the high school band, choir, and speech club, as well as special guest speaker, Veteran Ty Rosburg. Local veterans will be recognized during an honorary “Patriots Walk,” followed by a reception in the library sponsored by the Student Council and Cooking Club.
Denison Middle School
Denison Middle School will host a breakfast for Veterans on Tuesday, November 11, at 7:15 a.m. in the FCS room. This event is organized by the Middle School Student Council to show appreciation for veterans in the community. All veterans are welcome to attend.
Denison Elementary School
Denison Elementary School’s Veterans Day program will take place in the school gymnasium on Friday, November 8, at 8:45 a.m. Veterans are encouraged to come early (after 8:25) to enjoy some Scooter's coffee and a cinnamon roll. A group photo of the veterans will be done around 8:35. All grades will be singing a song, a 2nd-grade student will be singing "The Star Spangled Banner," all six military branches will be recognized, and we will close with everyone singing, "God Bless the USA." Guest speaker will be Jeff Trailer, who served in the Marines for four years and is now a detective for the Sac County Sheriff's Office. Everyone is welcome to attend, but there is limited seating.
Broadway Elementary School
The Broadway Elementary School is holding a service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the gymnasium. Veterans are invited to attend. Denison Community Schools warmly invite veterans to join any of these events as we honor their service and sacrifice.
