Woodbine Cadet Selected for Prestigious 2026 JROTC Naval Flight Academy
WOODBINE, Iowa — The Woodbine Community School District is recognizing a major achievement by Cadet Adalynn Coenen, who has been selected to attend the 2026 JROTC Naval Flight Academy.
District officials say Coenen was chosen from a pool of approximately 200 candidates nationwide, earning one of only 14 available spots for Navy and Marine Corps JROTC cadets. The program is considered highly competitive and recognizes students who demonstrate strong academic performance, exceptional physical fitness, and proven leadership ability.
Coenen’s selection comes during just her second year in the program, highlighting her continued dedication and potential.
Woodbine leaders noted the honor reflects positively on Coenen, her family, Woodbine Public Schools, and the district’s MCJROTC community.
