Crawford County Shooting Sports Results from Saturday 4-16-22 Home Meet

Crawford County Shooting Sports Results from Saturday 4-16-22 Home Meet

The Crawford County Shooting Sports Team hosted their first conference meet of the season this past Saturday morning. There were 60 students from the Crawford County Shooting Sports team that competed in the meet. Another 116 competitors from Carroll County Shooting Sports, Ida County Shooting Sports, MVAOCOU Rams, and South Central Calhoun teams joined us for a total of 176 competitors. Each competitor shot 2 rounds of 25, making for 50 targets each. A grand total of 8,800 targets were thrown during the competition. The Crawford County Shooting sports teams competed first in the competition and were challenged with the mid-twenty degree and windy weather. It was a bitterly cold morning, however the competitors managed to find a way to compete through the cold and to assure a few of the awards stayed at home with our shooting team. It was important to reiterate to the students that they all became better shooters today, regardless their score, as they faced great adversity in the weather and found a way to overcome that weather to still put in a solid competition. Below are a few highlights from our meet:

1)      The Middle School Silver team brought home the 2nd place finish with a score of 181. This team consisted of Eli Snowgren, Jett Paulsen, Lucas Schneider, Charlotte Schrum, and Wiatt Schulte. The Middle School Gold team, consisting of Dawson Stephens, Morgan Wood, Karson Bromert, Ryan Slechta, and Brock Schneider brought in 3rd place with a score of 172. Ida County brought home first place in this class with a score of 193.

2)      Middle School shooter Cale Paulsen of Schleswig brought home first place in his class today with his score of 43. This is Cale’s first year of competition, and only his second meet that he has competed in to date. A special Congratulations to Cale on finding his way to the top of the list in such a short order!

3)      The High School competition proved fierce once again on Saturday. Kole Towne and Garret Plagge brought home top honors for the Crawford County Shooting Sports HS Mens team on Saturday with their scores of 44 and placing of 14th and 15th. Ida County brought home first and second place with their scores of 48 and 47 with Southern Calhoun rounding out the top 3 with their score of 46.

4)      The Middle School Ladies followed up last week’s 1,2,3 finish with bringing home the Top 3 positions once again. Slightly altered positons today however with Ava Pauley bringing home the first place finish with her score of 35. Charlotte Schrum and Gracen Plagge rounded out the second and third positions with their scores of 31.

5)      Kallie Bromert of the High School Girls team found herself in a 3-way tie for third place with her overall score of 40. Landing in the middle of the “reverse run” scoring however, this found Kallie taking an overall fourth-place finish. Carroll County brought home first place with their score of 46 and Ida County brought home 2nd and 3rd place with their scores of 44 and 40.
