(Sioux City Journal) Opening that day are Snyder Bend Park and Brown's Lake-Bigelow Park near Salix, Southwood Conservation Area and Fowler Forest Preserve near Smithland and Bellamy Campground at Little Sioux Park near Correctionville. Riverside Campground at Little Sioux Park is being upgraded with sewer hookups and will open on May 15, weather permitting.

Cabins and enclosed shelters may be reserved online at www.woodburyparks.org.

A "Camping Kickoff Weekend" will be May 3-5 at Snyder Bend, Brown's Lake-Bigelow, Little Sioux and Southwood. On a first-come, first-served basis, campers will register and pay fees for camping and receive promotional items, including free camping nights.

 

Swimming beaches at Little Sioux Park and Brown's Lake are scheduled to open May 25. The beaches are not staffed by lifeguards.
