Mapleton Man’s Body Found in Backyard of Local Residence.
Local police responded to a call yesterday after a Mapleton resident reported a body found in their backyard.
The body discovered was identified as Bruce Vanmatre, a Mapleton man who has been missing since early December. Police discovered his body partially covered in a snowbank. Vanmatre’s body has since been transported to the Iowa State Medical Office for an autopsy with an ongoing investigation.
