Denison Police Reporting Friday Traffic Incident, Separate Arrest

The Denison Police Department is reporting one traffic incident and one arrest from this past Friday.

The first public release states that a 2007 Ford Five Hundred appeared to strike a legally-parked Ford F-150 pickup on South 19th Street. Officers responded to a call about the alleged head-on collision at around 7:30 a.m. according to the document. The owner of the Five Hundred was contacted after she previously called and reported the vehicle missing. The responding officer had the car towed after locating it behind a house on the 1900 block of 1st Avenue South. Authorities were told on a recorded phone line that the owner was not operating the vehicle because it is not insured and it is being switched over after purchasing it from a family member. The caller also claimed to have both sets of keys home and that no one else had access to them.

Police also arrested William Chevez of Denison at just before 9:30 p.m. according to a separate report. The 38-year-old male was charged with violating a no-contact order.

All charges are allegations and the people charged in a case are to be considered innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
