Denison Police Make Multiple Arrests, Respond to Single-Vehicle Accident
The Denison Police Department is reporting a pair of arrests and a single-vehicle accident from the past few days.
The most recent public release says officers took Jose Ramirez Martinez of Denison into custody near the 1300 block of Bohnker Hill Road over by Maxwell Park. They charged the 28-year-old male with domestic abuse assault at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.
A second document indicates that police arrested 22-year-old Denson Heard and a 17-year-old minor, both of Denison, in the Tucker's Pond parking lot near 6th Avenue North. Authorities seized two bags of marijuana and charged the pair with possession of a controlled substance at around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday.
All charges are allegations and the people being charged are to be considered innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
The motor vehicle incident happened about 1:15 p.m. on Friday. The report says 59-year-old Gerald Malone of Dunlap was traveling southbound on Highway 59 at the interchange with Highway 30. The driver reportedly suffered a medical condition which caused him to run the stop sign and drive through the intersection. The 1986 Chevrolet C20 pickup he was driving struck a light pole before coming to rest off the road in the grassy median. Paramedics transported Malone to Crawford County Memorial Hospital with complaints shoulder pain. The damage estimates are listed at $5,000 for the light pole and $2,000 for the truck.
