Northern Iowa makes a change at QB
UNI coach Todd Stepsis is making a change at quarterback. Jaxon Dailey will start under center this week when the Panthers visit 18th-ranked Illinois State. Dailey replaced Matthew Schecklman at halftime of a 31-17 loss at Southern Illinois and had a pair of touchdown passes in the second half. Stepsis believes Dailey's mobility in the pocket and his ability to run give the offense an added dimension. Stepsis says Dailey's creativity will be a plus for the offense. The Panthers are 2-6 overall and 0-4 in Missouri Valley play, and Illinois State will be the Panthers' fifth ranked opponent in a row. While disappointed in the results, Stepsis says there is still plenty to be accomplished in the final month and set the tone for the future.
