Substantial damage to home south of Willey

(Carroll Broadcasting) - There was substantial damage but no injuries reported following a structure fire at a home south of Willey Friday evening.  Carroll Broadcasting reports the communications center received a report of a burning house on Olympic Avenue, owned by Brian and Holly Wendl, at about 6:43 Friday evening.  The Dedham, Templeton and Carroll Fire Departments responded to the scene and when crews arrived flames were visible from the exterior on the north end of the structure.  Firefighters brought the blaze mostly under control in an hour, but some areas continued to burn.  Crews remained on scene for nearly three hours putting out hot spots.  Officials believe the fire originated in a vehicle parked outside the garage and spreading to the home.
