New Drone Donation Boosts Sac County Sheriff's Emergency Response Capabilities
The Sac County Sheriff’s Office is enhancing its emergency response and search-and-rescue efforts with the addition of a cutting-edge drone, thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous individual in collaboration with Terraplex Ag LLC. The drone, outfitted with advanced thermal imaging technology, is already being integrated into the department’s daily operations.
Deputy Josh Egesdal emphasized the impact of the new equipment, saying, “Having access to thermal imaging gives us a critical advantage in emergency situations. The M3T drone will be an invaluable asset not only for our agency but also when assisting neighboring departments.”
The drone’s thermal capabilities allow officers to conduct searches in the dark, evaluate potentially dangerous environments, and respond more efficiently to time-sensitive incidents. Terraplex Ag LLC, a local provider of agricultural and commercial drone services, played a key role in facilitating the donation.
“We’re proud to support local law enforcement,” said Cherity Schroeder, Operations Director at Terraplex. “This kind of community generosity really speaks to the character of our region, and we were honored to help make it happen.”
The Sheriff’s Office plans to continue training and expanding use of the drone across various law enforcement applications.
