Western Iowa Networks Breaks Ground on New Southern Operations Facility in Malvern

Malvern, Iowa – September 26, 2025 – Western Iowa Networks (WIN) celebrated a major
milestone Thursday with the groundbreaking of its new Southern Operations Facility in Malvern,
Iowa. The event, held just northeast of the 315th Street and Jahnke Avenue intersection, marks an
important step in WIN’s continued investment to expand and strengthen its services throughout
southern Iowa.
The new, roughly 18,000 square foot facility will serve as a hub for WIN’s growing operations,
enhancing the company’s ability to deliver cutting-edge fiber optic communications technology to
homes, businesses, and communities across the region. The structure will include office space for
technicians as well as garage space for company vehicles and equipment storage.
“This groundbreaking is not just about a new building—it’s about our long-term commitment to
Southern Iowa, our fiber-to-the-home expansion is creating opportunities for education, business
growth and innovation,” said WIN CEO Jeff Roiland. “This facility will help us better support our
customers, expand our reach, and ensure that rural communities have access to the fast, reliable
connectivity they need.”
Community leaders, local officials, and members of the WIN team gathered for the ceremony to
celebrate the exciting new chapter for the company. Speakers at the ceremony included the WIN CEO
Jeff Roiland, WIN Director of Operations, Chris Nieland, Mills County Supervisor Lonnie.
Mayberry and Malvern Mayor Doug Shere. Construction is expected to begin immediately, with the facility slated for completion by the end of 2026.
"We have seen a lot of growth in Mills and Pottawattamie counties, which has created a great need
for this new facility as we add more staff, vehicles, and equipment,” said WIN Director of
Operations Chris Nieland. “From this location, our techs will serve roughly a 30-mile radius north
of Interstate 80, going south down the Missouri border."

communications for 120 years. WIN offers internet, phone, and digital TV services, with a strong
focus on bringing world-class fiber optic connectivity to rural Iowa.
