SIM-IA brings cutting-edge clinical education to Denison healthcare professionals

In partnership with Crawford County Memorial Hospital, the Simulation in Motion-Iowa (SIM-IA)
The mobile education truck will be in Denison from Jan. 22 to 23 to provide hands-on clinical education for local emergency care providers.
SIM-IA is a statewide mobile education program delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical
training to EMS providers, hospital teams, businesses, and community members across the state.
Each semi-sized mobile simulation truck emulates an emergency room bay and an ambulance
The setting includes video recording for analysis and debriefing, and houses six advanced patient
Simulators capable of mimicking realistic human responses.
Media representatives are invited to tour the truck, observe live simulation sessions, and interview
SIM-IA educators and local participants.
MEDIA ADVISORY: UI College of Nursing Simulation in Motion-Iowa (SIM-IA) and Crawford County
Memorial Hospital brings cutting-edge clinical education to Denison health professionals.
WHAT: SIM-IA’s education team will train emergency care providers in pediatric sepsis and infant
cardiac arrest. Participants will engage in realistic, scenario-based learning using state-of-the-art
simulation equipment inside the SIM-IA mobile simulation truck.
ABOUT THE SIMULATION TRUCK: A full-scale mobile training unit featuring a simulated emergency
room bay, simulated ambulance box, six high-fidelity human patient simulators of various ages, and
a control room where educators adjust patient responses in real time.
WHO: SIM-IA education team and health professionals from Crawford County Memorial Hospital.
WHEN: Training session begins at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, and lasts approximately seven
hours. Training session begins at 8 a.m. on Friday, January 23, and lasts approximately eight hours.
WHERE: 100 Medical Pkwy, Denison, IA 51442
VISUALS: Local healthcare professionals providing emergency care to lifelike patient simulators as
instructors run the scenario from the truck’s control room. Mannequins respond dynamically to
interventions, requiring participants to assess and act just as they would in an actual emergency.
